And we adapt it for our needs.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">It doesn&#8217;t have to be long, but it has to cover the right things.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">What a good contract with an event photographer should include:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Scope of work: <strong>location, date<\/strong>, <strong>duration,<\/strong> <strong>type of events<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Minimal number of edited photos and <strong>delivery time<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>How the photos can be used<\/strong> \u2014 internal, social media, advertising<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Payment terms<\/strong> and what happens if the shoot changes<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Who <strong>owns the photos<\/strong> after delivery<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">That last point may surprise some clients. In Poland, copyright stays with the photographer by default \u2014 unless the contract says otherwise. If you need <strong>full rights<\/strong> to use the photos freely, this has to be written down.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Over the years I&#8217;ve read many different contracts. Some of them had none of these things. Once I received a contract with no mention of photography services at all. Another one said the service was free \u2014 even though we had agreed on a payment.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A <strong>clear contract<\/strong> protects both sides.
